SONG: ‘THE SEX WAR IS HERE TO STAY’
WOMEN

Don’t let ‘em tell you that

just because they passed an act

women have got their way.

Men are here to demonstrate

don’t matter how you legislate,

the sex war is here to stay.

You can ban discrimination,

establish liberation,

it doesn’t mean the end of the fuss.

What matters is who wears the pants,

a man simply raves and rants,

and won’t admit that sometimes it’s us!

HUSBAND Huh!
WIFE

I would not claim that

a woman is boss from

the moment she walks down

the aisle.

Nor would I insist

her IQ was higher,

but just that

she’s gotta lot

more guile.

WOMEN

We may be on our way now,

may want equal pay now,

it’s not the only issue at stake.

You can give us contraception,

the vote at an election,

it’s still a smaller slice of the cake.

You see, the male inclination

is for domination.

He likes to think he’s got the last word.

Well it’s unrealistic,

male chauvinistic,

we’ve got a few he still hasn’t heard!

HUSBAND Hah!
YOUNG D

I would not say that

because I can enter

professions or be An M.P.

I’m always superior

to men, I’m just saying

they’re sometimes inferior

to me.

WOMEN

You can talk about equality,

it’s still mere frivolity,

a man just thinks it’s a phrase.

He can’t see it means that

he may have the means, but

brother, have we got the ways!

When it comes to a tussle,

then we may not have the muscle,

or what he’s got zipped in his flies.

But however much he’ll flaunt it,

or kids himself we want it,

it’s brain matters more than size!

HUSBAND Oh really!
BIG D

I don’t pretend I

don’t want men around,

or that sex is unnecessary.

Don’t say I don’t need them,

just don’t always want them

the way that they seem to

want me!

WOMEN

We don’t want to imitate,

equalise or simulate,

we simply want a fair chance.

We’re not after competition,

just merely recognition,

and vive la differance!

So fellers, will you get it straight,

we ain’t gonna capitulate,

you can’t have it all your own way.

Intimidation ain’t enough,

we too can play it rough,

the sex war is here to stay!

HUSBAND Oh shut up!
