The Big Day

A Film Script by Robin Hawdon

Screenplay based on Hawdon’s hugely successful stage comedy, PERFECT WEDDING, which has played all over the USA and Europe. A wedding day goes disastrously wrong, causing chaos to all concerned. Relatively low budget as it is set almost entirely within the premises and grounds of a romantic honeymoon hotel which could be anywhere in the world. The rights have recently become available after a Hollywood company spent two years and a lot of money on 4 different screenwriters who all messed up the original script. SOMEONE has to make this film!

A bridegroom wakes on his wedding morning in his own bridal suite, with his bride-to-be about to arrive any moment, and finds an unknown girl in bed beside him. A naked and very attractive girl whom, in the depths of his post stag-night hangover he cannot remotely place. During the ensuing panic to get her out of the way the bride arrives, the girl is trapped in the bathroom, the best man has to pretend she is HIS girl friend, and his REAL girl friend has to be kept ignorant of the fact! By the time the bride’s parents and half the hotel staff get in on the act, the chaos reaches nuclear proportions which extend all over the hotel and grounds. Both a riotous comedy and a romantic love story.
